CLEVELAND -- "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" hasn't even been unleashed in theaters yet and there's already chatter swirling that the patriotic superhero might be heading back our way for another round.

It's a question hometown directors Joe and Anthony Russo are frequently asked.

"We're in the middle of working on 'Captain America 3' right now and one of the first questions Chris Evans asked us was, 'Are we going back to Cleveland? I loved Cleveland.' That's his quote exactly," Joe Russo explains. "It's just a great place to shoot."

PREMIERE | Cleveland ready for 'Winter Soldier' debut

If "Captain America 3" comes to Cleveland, it would mark the third Marvel production to film here since 2011 when "The Avengers" exploded into the region.

Last spring, the Russo brothers brought Hollywood excitement throughout the Cleveland area for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Joe Russo says the cast and crew "were over the moon about the experience" in Cleveland.

'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' is set after the Avengers' epic battle of New York. Steve Rogers is still adjusting to life in modern times and facing new foes with S.H.I.E.L.D.

"If you can work on a film where you have an emotional connection to the place that you're working on, it makes it a lot easier," Joe Russo adds. "We knew the locations of the city. We knew how great the people of this town are (and) How much fun it would be for the cast and crew to shoot here."

Plus, Ohio has its benefits.

"Ohio has a top-tier tax break for filmmaking, which is critical to the equation," Anthony Russo declares.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" opens nationwide Friday. "Captain America 3" has a release date slated for May 6, 2016.
