Sautéed Pears with Brussels Sprouts

Serves 4

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 teaspoons brown sugar (may need more if using fresh cranberries)

1 cup onion, minced

2 cups Brussel sprouts split in half

1 cup fresh or dried cranberries

Juice of one fresh lemon

3 large pears, peeled and chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme, minced

Salt and pepper


Heat oil in a large sauté pan. Add onions, cranberries, brussel sprouts and pears and sauté until onions are tender and caramelized. Add lemon juice, thyme and sugar and stir until sugar is melted. Salt , additional sugar and pepper to taste.
