BRUNSWICK -- The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of Mary Tench, 55, a homicide.

A spokesman for the Medina County Cororner's Office said the preliminary investigation shows the cause of death is multiple blunt trauma injuries to her neck and head with a skull fracture.

Tench was found dead in her car on Carquest Drive Tuesday afternoon in an industrial park near Interstate 71 about a mile from the Camden Lane home she shared with her son James Tench, 27. Family members reported her missing after she failed to show up to babysit her grandchildren.

Police say they have sealed off the home as a crime scene.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification is assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information on Tench's death is asked to call Brunswick police at (330) 225-9111.
