Investigators in Ashtabula County have a judge's wife in custody for allegedly poisoning him.

Carla Rae Hague, 71, is being held in the Lake County Jail.

Back in September Common Pleas Juvenile Probate Judge Charles Hague was rushed to the Cleveland Clinic for what turned out to be poisoning from antifreeze.

A few days later, the Ashtabula County sheriff says the judge's family asked for help.

Along with the Sheriff's Office, the FBI and BCI helped with the investigation.

They arrested his wife Monday and charged her with felonious assault. She will also be charged with attempted murder.

Despite the arrest, the sheriff says this investigation isn't over yet.

"Certainly we knew from the very beginning it's was a high-profile case because it's a sitting judge. When we do investigation, it makes no difference. We do it the same way. We know it's going to grab a lot of attention," said Sheriff William Johnson.
