NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- One person has been taken to the hospital and one person is in custody after a shooting at a Home Depot in North Olmsted.

Police and fire crews were called to the store just after noon.

The North Olmsted fire chief says a 34-year-old man was shot in the back and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. The victim was said to be alert and conscious when he was transported.

A Westlake officer at the scene says one person has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.

The store is located on Brookpark Road.

Contacted by Channel 3 News, a spokesperson for the corporate office of Home Depot says the company was aware of a shooting at the Brookpark Road location and said local authorities were handling the situation.
