BEDFORD -- Channel 3 was the first to tell you about a possible corruption investigation in the City of Bedford and how it may be connected to a brothel.

Here's how it all got started:

On Sept. 30, police raided "Studio 54" on Northfield Road in Bedford. Police say Jim Walsh, 71, of Willoughby Hills, was running a brothel on the top floor.

Walsh is charged with multiple counts of money laundering and promoting prostitution.

On Nov. 7, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty addressed a Cuyahoga County Council hearing, saying this: "You've seen a couple of recent massage parlor, brothel-type operations we've shut down. And there will be some corruption arrests coming out of those shortly."

Just five days later, on Nov. 12, Cuyahoga County filed a grand jury subpoena, requesting all criminal records for Lisa Marie Goforth, 32, a woman who, police say, worked as a prostitute at "Studio 54."

On Nov. 13, the county filed three additional grand jury subpoenas requesting all door activity within the Bedford Police Department dated Nov. 7 and all interior/exterior video surveillance of the police department and Bedford Municipal Court.

Another subpoena requests Bedford Municipal Court Judge Harry J. Jacob III's entire court docket dated Nov. 7.

After digging through court documents, Channel 3 discovered that Goforth has appeared at least twice before Jacob.

On Nov. 19, Jacob notifies Bedford Municipal Court that he will be taking an indefinite medical leave of absence.

On Nov. 21, two days after Jacob's departure, City of Bedford Law Director Ken Schuman requests and is granted a medical leave of absence.

In the days that follow, Schuman is either put on leave or resigns from several other cities where he was working as assistant prosecutor and/or assistant law director.

On dec. 6, the Bureau of Criminal Invetigations and Bedford Police assist the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's office in executibng a search warrant at Schuman's Bedford home and Garfield heights law offices.

We also know that the Bedford city manager's secretary has been subpoenaed, along with at least one member of Bedford City Council.
