CANTON -- With another blast of snow and cold this weekend, the City of Canton is preparing residents for a salt shortage during this weekend's anticipated snow storm.
A release from the Canton's mayor's office says the entire state of Ohio is conserving its salt supply to get through the rest of the winter.
Canton's mayor says the city will prioritize the roads that get treated during this weekend's snow. The routes that carry the highest volume of traffic will be treated first. After those routes are cleared, the city will shift efforts to secondary routes.
The city is asking driers to exercise caution if out driving this weekend in the wintry weather.
