Students, staff and volunteers of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland are recognizing this year's outstanding participants.


CLEVELAND -- Today is a time to bring attention to kids who are overcoming challenges to carve out a bright future for themselves.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland recognized the Youth of the Year this morning.

Of six candidates, the organization recognized Jasmyne Johnson, of the Mt. Pleasant Club, as the 2014 Youth of the Year.

The organization also awarded volunteers and staff members who have made the club a place for students to learn and find support.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland aims to inspire and enable young people in communities throughout the city.

It offers a safe place for students to study and make friendships after school.
