1. Shane "Rover" French and Michael "Chocolate Charlie" Toomey, from "Rover's Morning Glory" on WMMS will appear in court Monday morning. The two are accused of assault and resisting arrest after an alleged altercation with an off duty police officer back in July. A pre-trial conference is scheduled. Both French and Toomey have pleaded not guilty.

2. The 132nd Cleveland Police Academy starts today. The city says 49 new recruits will begin their 26 weeks of training. The officers-in-training will spend hundreds of hours learning police tactics, criminal law and community diversity. The new class of Cleveland police officers are expected to graduate in August.

3. Akron police are investigating the cause of a one-car crash that killed a driver and sent his passenger to the hospital. It happened on Eastland Avenue near Wellington Road. Police say the car was going too fast and crashed into a utility pole. Eastland Avenue was temporarily closed as crews cleaned up the scene.
