SUFFIELD, Ohio - Ice anglers giving back to those in need through charity tournament.

The 4th Annual Ice Out Hunger Icefishing Tournament is set to kick off Saturday, Feb. 22 at Wingfoot State Park.

All proceeds from the event will be given to the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank.

"In the eight-county area we serve, there were ten thousand unemployment benefit claims filed in the last six weeks," says Dan Flowers, Foodbank CEO.

"Events like this make a difference in the daily lives of people in need as they struggle to make ends meet."

In the first three years of the event, the ice fishing tournament had no ice. Supporters still came out for some fellowship, food, and fun. Wingfoot State Park has a lot to offer.

This year, ice conditions are prime with a solid 15 inches or more of good, clear ice. Anglers will weigh in their 10 biggest panfish for a chance to win a trophy and, what matters the most to fishermen, the bragging rights.

Registrations for the event begin at 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the Pine Tree Lodge on the grounds of Wingfoot State Park .

The awards party begins at 3 p.m.
