ASHLAND -- Lynn Jackenheimer's family is speaking out following the arrest of Nate Summerfield.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force captured Summerfield at a motel in Wadsworth on Wednesday morning. He had been on the run for more than a month following Lynn's disappearance.

Summerfield returned from an Outer Banks vacation with Jackenheimer's children, but not Lynn on July 8. He left Ciara, 13, who has autism and Leland, the couple's 3-year-old son, with relatives and then dropped out of sight.

Searchers found Lynn's in Frisco, North Carolina about a week later.

Family members were at the news conference when authorities announced they had Summerfield, Lynn's on-again, off-again boyfriend, in custody.

Ciara talked to Channel 3's Dave Summers following the emotional day.

"I miss her face. I miss how nice she was. How funny. I'm just like her," said Ciara Sheppard.

She continued saying she "was worried he would come get me or Leland . You don't know what can happen."

"He murdered my mother and I don't like that, and I don't know what to do about that at all."
