CLEVELAND -- A mother apparently left her three week old infant and one-year-old child behind this morning at the Salvation Army's Harbor Light Family Shelter on Prospect Ave.
Cleveland police are investigating the case. The prosecutor's office will determine if any child endangering charges would be pending. The reason why the mother left the children is unclear.
A staff member at Harbor Light found the children alone Wednesday morning. They were taken to Rainbow for evaluation and found to be in good health.
The Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services now has custody of the children and is looking for a foster family to take both together. Then they will begin searching for capable biological family members.
