A disagreement between two men on Fairtree Rd. sent one to the hospital and the other to jail


BEDFORD HEIGHTS -- A neighbor dispute over yard work and yard waste has resulted in a man dead in Bedford Heights.

The Police Department received a 911 call about 8 p.m. Wednesday indicating a shooting had taken place at 5366 Fairtree Road.

The first officer arrived to find One man standing in the front yard of that address and another lying face-down in a paved access area between 5366 and 5344 Fairtree.

Andre Jackson, 51, of 5366 Fairtree was standing with his hands over his head and a handgun near his feet in the grass, according to police. He was taken into custody without incident.

The man lying in the access drive was identified as Michael A. Davis of 5344 Fairtree.

Davis was unresponsive and bleeding.

Officers and medical personnel performed CPR at the scene, and he was taken to South Pointe Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

An investigation revealed the pair were arguing over yard work and yard waste when Jackson, who has a concealed carry permit, got a gun and shot Davis.

Jackson is charged with murder, and the investigation is ongoing.
