CLEVELAND -- Police are investigating a breaking and entering/petty theft/damage to city vehicle which occurred at 10225 St. Clair Avenue at the Cleveland Fire Station #30.

Police say the preliminary investigation reveals that this incident occurred between the hours of 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Aug. 5.

Members of the fire department contacted police after they noticed two vehicles, both of which were parked in the fenced-in lot at Station 30, with damage to the fuel tank areas and wet pavement stemming from underneath both vehicles.

Further investigation revealed that a hole was cut into the western side of the fence.

One vehicle was a city vehicle -- a van assigned to parks and recreation -- and the other was the personal vehicle of a firefighter assigned to Station 30.

Both vehicles had been drained of fuel.

As a result of damages and theft, loss was estimated at $1,000 for each vehicle.
