"I don't feel anger because everything has a purpose"

CHARDON, Ohio -- On February 27, 2012, life forever changed for Phyllis Ferguson. Shortly after she dropped off her son, 16-year-old Demetrius, at school, a student shot Demetrius and two of his friends. All three were killed.

DEMETRIUS' STORY: In death, Chardon shooting victims saves lives

"The last day of his life, he was poking around and I was singing 'I love you!'" says Phyllis. "I got a hug every day no matter what every day." She got a hug that last day too.

Her faith has seen her through the darkest of times.

"I don't feel anger because everything has a purpose, no room for hatred you have to forgive," she says. " Like the man who killed the kids you don't know what caused it, you need to consider him too."

She shows incredible grace and compassion. She wants people to remember her son as a caring young man, who ultimately saved 7 people by donating his organs and impacted about 100 people with his tissue donation.
