No one was injured, according to a spokesman, suspect arrested.


KENT -- The Kent State University campus lockdown has been lifted campus-wide.

A Kent State spokesperson says the suspect was apprehended off campus at approximately 11:30 p.m.

The school was on lockdown for nearly two hours Wednesday evening after a report of someone firing a single shot into the ground.

University police immediately advised students and staff to take shelter in place and provided a description of the suspect.

Officials say no one was injured.

The shot was fired near Bowman Hall.
