SHALERSVILLE TOWNSHIP -- A couple from California is facing felony drug charges after a stop on the Ohio Turnpike led to troopers seizing 50 pounds of hydroponic marijuana.

The drugs have a street value of approximately $110,000.

Troopers stopped the couple on the Turnpike on May 14 for an improper lane change and following too closely to another vehicle. A search of the couple's pick-up truck turned up the marijuana in the toolbox in the bed of the truck.

The couple, Pamela Denna, 42, and Vinson Denna , 48, both of Paradise, California are being held in the Portage County Jail. Both face charges including trafficking and possession of marijuana.

If convicted, each could face up to 19 years in prison and up to a $37,500 fine.
