Drivers will notice several new road closures in Summit County within Copley and Norton.

ODOT says state Route 21 North will be closed between I-76 and Route 162/Copley Road for culvert replacements.

The closure, which is weather dependent, begins at 6 p.m. Friday, July 11 and continues until 6 a.m. Monday, July 14.

As a result, the following ramps will be closed as well:

  • I-76 eastbound and westbound to SR 21 northbound
  • SR 261 to SR 21 northbound
  • Minor Rd. entrances to SR 21 northbound

The detour for all closures is I-77 to I-76 (Kenmore Leg) to I-76/US 224.

This work is the beginning of a $285,000 project to replace four culverts along SR 21, two between Minor Rd. and SR 261, one between SR 261 and I-76 and one between Minor Rd. and SR 162/Copley Rd.

The entire project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2014.
