Sunday more than 8,000 runners took to the streets for the inaugural Rock 'n' Roll Cleveland Half Marathon. Thousands more spectators and fans have lined up on the course route to cheer them on.

The race will take runners on a tour of the home of rock 'n' roll. It will feature live bands, themed water stations and cheerleaders along every mile of the course.

28-year-old Aaron Apathy of Westlake, won the men's division with net time of 1:12:44.

31-year-old Kelly Green of Burton, won the women's division with a net time of 1:23:19.

Besides the 13.1 mile half marathon, the race will also feature a 3.5 mile mini-marathon.

Runners and spectators will be treated to a finish line concert presented by the Horseshoe Casino featuring Gavin DeGraw.

The race is expected to bring $10 million into the city. More than a quarter of the runners are from out-of-state. WKYC is a sponsor of the event.
