VERMILION -- An employee at Pat O'Brien's Chevrolet dealership claims he was bit by a customer's pet monkey.
According to police reports, Jacob Reuhlman, 20, of Vermilion was holding a spider monkey named Brody when the employee asked if he could pet it. Reuhlman gave the employee permission. That's when the monkey bit the employee on his thumb, causing a small puncture wound.
The employee was taken to the hospital where he received a rabies vaccination. Police say the monkey was not registered and Reuhlman does not have a permit for the exotic animal.
Police contacted the monkey's veterinarian, who confirmed Brody was vaccinated for rabies. The monkey will remain in quarantine at a Columbus facility.
